Rules of the Arena v1.0
Rules of the Arena
Viral is for debate. Everyone agrees to these rules before they post, comment, lock a stance, or join a room.
- 1.
Persuade, don't pronounce
Verdicts measure persuasion, not truth. Argue to move the room, not to declare who is right.
- 2.
Attack the argument, not the person
Take on the strongest version of the other side. Contempt for people is not an argument.
- 3.
No real names in the dock
Don't build a motion to try, convict, or humiliate a private, identifiable person. Debate public questions, not private people.
- 4.
No threats
No threats of violence, no calls for harm, no wishing injury on anyone — here or anywhere else.
- 5.
No harassment
No pile-ons, stalking, or coordinated campaigns against a person or a group.
- 6.
No doxxing
Never post private information — home addresses, phone numbers, documents, or where someone can be found.
- 7.
Be who you are
No impersonation of a person, an organisation, or Viral itself. One identity, honestly held.
- 8.
Keep it lawful
No content that sexualises minors, promotes terrorism, or incites crime. This is removed and reported — it never reaches the jury.
- 9.
Honour the verdict
When the jury delivers a verdict, take the result. Don't brigade, don't relitigate the count, don't retaliate against jurors.
- 10.
The floor is for everyone
These rules bind every member equally — hosts, champions, and the founder included.
